America’s most dog friendly cities

Do you love traveling? We at Scruffy Puppy certainly do. It's obvious that no vacation is complete without bringing our furry friends. We read a lot of articles about the most dog-friendly cities in the United States and came up with our list of the top 5. 

Portland

Portland is not only an awesome city for breweries and wineries, it is also a fun city for dogs. You can find hiking trails, lots of dog parks and a dog friendly farmer’s market. The city offers many pet friendly hotels, you won't have trouble finding accommodation.

Seattle

People in Seattle are crazy about dogs. Almost everybody has one in the city. You can find plenty of off-leash parks (Magnuson Park, Golden Gardens Park). If you are into hiking, Washington State offers some of the best hiking trails in the United States. Trust me, your pup will love it!

San Diego

San Diego is another popular destination for dog lovers. It’s not a surprise that it’s called America’s Finest City. It has great weather, friendly people and amazing restaurants you can bring your dog to. There is plenty of hiking close to the city. Looking for dog friendly beaches? No problem either.

Austin

18 off-leash parks, dog yoga, guided walking tour with your dog? Austin has it all. The state capital of Texas is a great choice for pets and humans as well. There are plenty of dog friendly restaurants in Austin where you can eat some good BBQ while enjoying the live music scene. This city won’t disappoint.

San Francisco

San Francisco is one of the most exciting cities in the United States, Visit the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, the Pier, then head to one of the 56 dog friendly parks the city has to offer for some recreational time with your puppy. If you are tired of the crowds, you can take your pup hiking outside the city, or visit Napa Valley to enjoy some wine (responsibly).
